Ubisoft is breathing new life into The Crew series with an update that many fans are describing as historic. After years of requests, the developer has finally added an offline mode to The Crew 2 – while also announcing massive plans for the third year of support for The Crew Motorfest.
The Crew 2: Definitive Offline
In the latest update, players can now freely switch between online mode and a new hybrid option that allows them to play completely offline. The offline version naturally removes features like multiplayer, leaderboards, and the ability to change vehicle livery, but in return gives you the peace of mind of exploring the vast American map without an internet connection.

Ubisoft calls the update “an important step for the long-term accessibility of the game.”
Series producer Gregory Corgier explains that the change is directly inspired by fan requests for a more flexible and accessible single-player option.
This marks a major shift for Ubisoft, which has traditionally required a constant online connection in many of its racing games.
The Crew Motorfest: An explosive third year
Meanwhile, Ubisoft is looking ahead. Year 3 of The Crew Motorfest will kick off on November 5, 2025 with Season 8, which will introduce a number of new features and game modes.
Players can look forward to:
-
Two brand new playlists: Street Riders and BMW Heritage
-
A new gaming concept called Monkey Bet, which allows players to bet on races
-
A Free Race mode with GPS navigation
-
New cars, including the BMW M2 CS, as well as new rims and adjustable car positions
-
Full Steam Deck verification, making the game more accessible on the go
Ubisoft is already planning the next step: Season 9 (March 2026) will, according to the developer, be “the biggest update in the history of the series.” It will introduce, among other things:
-
NASCAR content
-
A new place
-
Reworked physics engine
-
A TrackForge course editor
-
A new category of RC cars and dedicated competitions
The third year will conclude in July 2026 with season 10, the details of which are still being kept close to heart.
A promise of longevity
Ubisoft emphasizes that both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest will continue to evolve for many years to come.
After years of feedback and anticipation, it seems the developer is finally giving car enthusiasts what they’ve been asking for – the freedom to choose how, where, and when they want to drive.
