Creative Aurvana Ace 3: True wireless CD-quality audio for less than £180

Creative Aurvana Ace 3

Creative is back in top form with its new Aurvana Ace 3 – wireless headphones that combine advanced audio technology, personalization and a surprisingly low price. These headphones support aptX Lossless, which means you can stream music in true CD quality – without the wires.

And the timing couldn’t be better: Spotify is now rolling out lossless audio to Premium subscribers, making such products especially relevant for anyone who cares about audio quality.

The Aurvana Ace 3 is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sound platform.

Lossless Bluetooth and personalized audio

Built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound Platform, the Aurvana Ace 3 supports both LDAC and aptX Lossless, the latter of which is key to listening to music without compression, with 44.1kHz/16-bit audio – the same resolution as a CD.

To actually take advantage of this, your phone must support the codec. If not, Creative offers its own BT-W6 USB adapter, which can provide lossless audio from your PC, Mac, or mobile.

In addition to groundbreaking sound, you get Mimi Sound Personalization, a technology that measures how you hear – and automatically adjusts the soundstage where your hearing is weaker. The result is a more balanced and detailed listening experience, especially for adult ears that have lost some of their sensitivity in the highest frequencies.

In addition to high-quality "HiRes Audio" sound, the Creative Aurvana Ace 3 has another feature that is often reserved for significantly more expensive headphones: Mimi sound customization.

Dual drivers for richer sound

Each earbud is equipped with two separate drivers – a 10mm full-range driver and an xMEMS solid-state driver for treble reproduction. This is a solution usually only found in much more expensive models. Together, they provide an open and precise soundstage, with good separation and clear details.

The connection is via Bluetooth 5.4, which provides stable range, low latency and support for Auracast – so multiple users can listen to the same audio source simultaneously.

For playback, the earbuds have two separate elements – again, something you often see in more expensive headphones, but it doesn't guarantee better sound.

Active noise cancellation and solid battery life

Creative has equipped the Aurvana Ace 3 with hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), which effectively filters out noise in both urban and office environments. At the same time, you have Ambient Mode (transparency mode) when you want to let in sounds from your surroundings.

Each earbud has three microphones for clear voice during calls, and battery life is up to 7 hours per charge, or 28 hours total with the wireless charging case. The case supports both USB-C and wireless charging, and the earbuds are IPX5 certified for protection against rain and sweat.
